Known locally as Magic Bay, this wave is the jewel of Imsouane and the main reason surfers travel from all over the world. Once a hidden gem, it’s now one of Morocco’s most famous surf spots.
Exceptionally long rides, sometimes lasting several minutes
Smooth, rolling walls perfect for longboards
Gentle entry, great for learners and improving surfers
Easy return to the lineup—just stroll back along the sand
⚠️ Note: During peak swell season, the Bay can get powerful, so it’s not always a walk in the park.
Best tide: Works best on an incoming tide from low to mid. High tide can still deliver, but rides tend to be shorter. On exceptional days, you can surf it from dawn to dusk.
Situated near the heart of Imsouane village, The Reef offers a completely different vibe from The Bay. It’s faster, punchier, and tailored for those wanting more action-packed rides.
Steeper, more powerful waves
Suits intermediate surfers and above
Ideal for practicing sharper maneuvers and quick turns
Produces shorter, more intense rides
Best tide: High tide with light wind usually brings out the best conditions here. Always keep an eye on swell direction and wind before paddling out.
On epic days, the wave can link up with Cathedral Point, giving you rides far longer than you’d expect.
This break is the heavyweight of Imsouane. It’s a challenging, technical wave that demands skill, confidence, and respect. Definitely not for beginners.
Powerful and heavy take-offs
Suited only for advanced surfers who can handle steep drops
Rarely works, but when it does, it produces some of the most thrilling waves in the area
Many surfers are content just watching locals tackle Cathedral—it’s as exciting to observe as it is to ride. But if you’re chasing adrenaline and have the experience, this is the place to test yourself.
